Those who suffer from it experience painful feelings when they remember a past trauma, and those are grieving feel the same way. The emotional triggers can be worked through with EMDR. the therapy uses eye movement coupled with tones or taps. Clients listen to the sounds while remembering the traumatic events, which helps them understand their emotions and find better ways to cope with triggers.
