In 2015, the Girls Rock Santa Barbara program was sponsored by the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation. Kenny Slaught recognizes that music is a way of empowering young girls and make them more confident, which is the project’s main purpose. While being part of it, the girls take music lessons, perform live, attend workshops and challenge gender roles while supporting each other. This way, Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation’s mission of making music and art easily accessible is accomplished.
