The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation sponsored the Girls Rock Santa Barbara program in 2015. Kenny Slaught sees music as a way to empower teen girls, and believes that the foundation offers a place for kids to boost their self confidence. The program provides music classes, workshops, and the girls also perform live. They are invited to work as a team, be tolerant of each other and challenge traditional gender roles. So, Girls Rock Santa Barbara stays true to the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation’s mission to make arts available to all.
